The City of West Columbia’s face covering mandate – that was instituted to prevent the spread of COVID – ended Saturday (May 1.) A COVID vaccine has been made available to everyone in South Carolina over the age of 16. About three million have been vaccinated.

There is no item on council’s Tuesday agenda in reference to a face covering mandate.

West Columbia passed a mask ordinance in July. The first virtual council meeting was held in April of 2020. Most of council’s meetings have been virtual since.
