Sammye Locklair, who now runs Locklair’s. “My Dad opened the store in 1977,” she said. “We are a family owned business that started selling mainly to farmers in the Gaston and Swansea area. We still sell livestock feed, seed, and fertilizer, but now we have many supplies for pet owners and people with smaller gardens or landscaped yards.”

Locklair’s is presenting Christmas in the Country at Locklair’s Farm Supply, Saturday (Dec. 4) from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Sammye took over for her parents when she left the Lexington Two School District in 1991. She was a teacher in Pine Ridge and she taught at Brookland-Cayce High School. Some of her colleagues from her teaching days still come into Locklair Farm Supply.
