Boat found, Lexington County Sheriff’s Deputies search for missing man

David Grantham’s boat was spotted near Spence’s Point on Lake Murray from the air and recovered, Tuesday, but he wasn’t on it. Lexington County Sheriff’s Department divers have been called to the scene as part of a search. LCSD personnel are also searching nearby islands.

About 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Capt. Adam Myrick of the LCSD said the search for Grantham had been paused until daylight. The searched was by air, water and land. Multiple agencies searched from above. The LCSD dive team searched the water near Spence’s Point where Mr. Grantham’s boat was recovered. Deputies searched shorelines and islands on foot.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department was told that Grantham left home in the overnight hours and got on his boat at a marina off Hwy 378 about 3 a.m., Tuesday.

Mr. Grantham goes by Neil. His first name is David. He’s 36 years old. Mr. Grantham stands 6’4” and 235 pounds
