Two victims of the shooting at Columbiana Centre that took place in April are suing the mall and its security company. Brookfield Properties, Inc. is being sued, along with Andy Frain Services, Inc. The suit alleges negligence, gross negligence and recklessness.
Nine people were hit by gunfire during the shooting. There were no fatalities and three men were arrested and charged in the shooting. The shooters were not named in the multi-million-dollar lawsuit.
The unidentified people filing the suit said they went to the mall for an event that was billed as “safe” and “family friendly” featuring the Easter bunny.
