Lexington County deputies are searching for a suspect in a shooting that left a 19-year-old man dead.
The shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of Miranda Drive. Miranda Drive is off of Charleston Highway, past the SC State Farmers Market.
“Based on information from witnesses, the shooter left the scene in a black Nissan Maxima, which we have located,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “We don’t have much else to go on at this point.”
Koon said detectives will continue interviewing neighbors who live near the shooting scene. Crime scene investigators processed the scene of the shooting and collected potential evidence. They also processed the car after it was towed.
“Those interviews will likely be helpful to us,” Koon said. “We’ll also be following up on any leads we generate based on tips that come in. “Anyone with information on the shooting can share tips anonymously with Crimestoppers by calling 888-274-6372 or the Crimestoppers mobile app.
