Small plane crashes in Columbia, Rosewood area

Multiple Columbia Fire Department crews are on scene of a small plane crash in the 2900 block of Kennedy Street, in Columbia. It’s in Rosewood, not far from Owens Field Airport.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is on the scene and is investigating. No update on the occupants of the plane yet. The crash did cause one home to catch on fire. The occupant of the home did suffer a minor injury unrelated to the crash. The fire is now out.

The crash was reported by the CFD at about 11:15 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find one home on fire and the fire is now under control, according to the Columbia Fire Department. The 2900 block of Kennedy was closed at South Maple Street. Information regarding injuries has not been relesed yet.
